70% Rosa Damascena Flower Water, 10% Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Butylene Glycol , Water, Glycerin, Glycereth-26, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Allantoin, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Nut Extract, Adenosine, Ethylhexylglycerin,Rose Flower Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract.
Ethylhexylglycerin and 1,2-Hexanediol as preservatives
Pentylene Glycol probably use as solvent and preservative. The thing with formulation is that many ingredients can have more than one functions. Just like Butylene Glycol, it can act as a solvent and penetrating enhancer. Trust me, when you’re trying to dissolve oil in a water base product it can be very difficult. Some oils doesn’t dissolve well and can cause cloudy or have different layer in the final product.
Allantoin is a good skin repair ingredient, doesn’t require high amount either. It is exfoliating but amount probably too low for that in this toner.
Overall, I don’t see any red flag for the ingredients list. But then again every skin is different so always patch test!
This is a very nice simple toner with rose water and many humectants. It also contains several nice extracts but maybe too low to work in my opinion.
Who is it for?
Everyone can use this toner unless you’re allergic to one of the ingredients.
Texture/smell:
The toner is very light, water like texture and smell like real rose. Of course it will smell like real rose because they use a tiny percentage of Rose Flower Oil in this. My guess is they use Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, butylene glycol, and Glycereth-26 as emulsifier and solubilizer to incorporate the rose oil in this toner to give it the real scent. It’s actually pretty pleasant scent…unless you don’t like rose!
How do you use it?
As you know I don’t wash my face with a cleanser in the morning. I like to splash my face with tepid water then use a cotton pad soaked with this toner and wipes my face 🙂
My Results:
Skin is soft and smell good. It doesn’t control my sebum production but it’s a nice toner to use in place of a cleanser in the morning. Very gentle and refreshing!
